Customer Rating: Summary: Her BEST work yet! Comment: The summary on the back of the book is not a very good incentive. I looked at the book three different times during the past month and didn't buy it until the fourth time. The novel is brilliant! By page five i was absolutely hooked! The characters are dynamic and diverse. The plot keeps you guessing and guessing. It is such a real perspective to who we are as humans, and it includes what we love from the Twilight series, romance.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fantastic! Comment: Stephenie Meyer never disapoints. I thought The Host was a fantastic read. I was a little nervous at first, since The Twilight series is one of my all time favorites and how can one top that. I am well over the "Young Adult" reader and I was pleasantly suprised. It was a little confusing at first, but give it a chance. It was terrific. I do hope that Stephenie makes The Host into a series, you cannot help but fall in love with this book too!!
Customer Rating: Summary: BEST EVER! Comment: OMG you must read this book! it was the best ever. I love stephenie's book, but this was the best yet.
Customer Rating: Summary: Never got the book Comment: I still don't have the book. I order it on May 31 it is now July 3 and NO BOOk!!:( I sent an email to the seller and no responce yet! Not proffesional at all.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great book Comment: I do agree that this book is a little slow to get into, but once it gets going I couldn't put it down. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and I would reread this in the future. Great character development throughout the book. This is a great book and shows that Meyer is not just a young adult writer, but a great adult writer as well. I can't wait to see what else she has for adult books.

Amazon Best of the Month, May 2008: Stephenie Meyer, creator of the phenomenal teen-vamp Twilight series, takes paranormal romance into alien territory in her first adult novel. Those wary of sci-fi or teen angst will be pleasantly surprised by this mature and imaginative thriller, propelled by equal parts action and emotion. A species of altruistic parasites has peacefully assumed control of the minds and bodies of most humans, but feisty Melanie Stryder won't surrender her mind to the alien soul called Wanderer. Overwhelmed by Melanie's memories of fellow resistor Jared, Wanderer yields to her body's longing and sets off into the desert to find him. Likely the first love triangle involving just two bodies, it's unabashedly romantic, and the characters (human and alien) genuinely endearing. Readers intrigued by this familiar-yet-alien world will gleefully note that the story's end leaves the door open for a sequel--or another series. --Mari Malcolm
