Customer Rating: Summary: Dr Seuss ABC video Comment: My son is autistic and loves the Dr. Seuss series. The ABC video is one of his favorites.
Customer Rating: Summary: Dr. Seuss's ABC Comment: This is one of my kids favorite dvd's. They love learning there abc's with this dvd.
Customer Rating: Summary: A massive dissapointment Comment: Somehow, I thought I remembered most of the Dr. Seuss stories being interesting animations from the 1960s, when I was a child. However, I now realize that only a few proper animations were created (like The Grinch Who Stole Christmas). This DVD is an overpriced, underproduced waste of time. It is merely the illustrations from the books brought to life - poorly. The movements are jerky and silly, the voiceovers are embarassing, and it captures my 3 year old twins imagination about as much as a blank screen. They LOVE the equivalent books, and we read them constantly. They are NOT interested in these amateurish renderings (which at times look like cut and paste silliness like Terry Gilliam of Monty Python fame). If a three year old can tell the difference, then you will too. Even though the animation is limited, in the "Ken Burns" style or worse, the DVD compression is lousy with tons of visible artifacts all over the images. Do yourself and your kids a favor and buy the real books. Random House and Sony Wonder - whose logos introduce these productions - should be ashamed to market such inferior nonsense.
Customer Rating: Summary: Amazed at the genius behind ABCs Comment: I am amazed. My 2 year old has watched this about 10 times now in the last 2 weeks and loves it. This was the first introduction he had to little and big letters as well as the ABC song. He not only now names each and every letter, big or little, but also is inspired to recite word for word the entire ABC book. I never would have thought he would learn so much from this video. This past week, he has also been empowered to look anew at his books and really is learning so much so sudden. I am in awe of the folks who put this video together and got it so right.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent. Recommend Highly. Comment: This disk is very safe for kids to watch. It is animated and very calming. A very good addition to a child's dvd library.

Together, the three stories in this video offer a fine introduction to the basics of reading, in an appealing and humorous format kids will enjoy. Dr. Seuss ABC's teaches the alphabet through whimsical Seuss characters and crazy, kid-friendly words. Each word of the alphabet is introduced with its capital and lowercase letters. Then different words that use the letter are spelled. Kids will enjoy the zany illustrations, and will be challenged to learn phonetics, with phrases like "duck-dog," "quacking quackeroo," "four fluffy feathers on a fiffer-feffer-fef," and "yawning yellow yak." In the second segment, the Cat in the Hat points out all the wonderful things kids can learn if they only read with their eyes open. Finally, "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" teaches phonetics through the story of a man who can make sounds like animals and everyday appliances. --Elisabeth Keating
