Summary: TRON rules!
Comment: Being from the Atari generation... it's clear to see that TRON was a revolutionary movie. This movie must not be judged by its inherent bad acting, and 'prehistoric' CGA sequences - but rather judgement based on the genious endevour depcting what might occur inside of a CPU assuming that programs, disk utilities, and general computer functions have conciousness.
A must for any techno-dorks like myself that revel in our computer age world.
This is where it all started. TRON. dont miss it.

Summary: Awesome Movie
Comment: I can't say enough good about this movie. It was amazing then and still holds my attention and imagination. The effects aren't as good as today but watch the bonus features for this movie, those effects were cutting edge at the time. Amazing to think about what they were doing back then with computers.

Summary: The best film since black cauldron
Comment: Back in its time this wasone the most comnfiscated and most expensive Disney Movie every made. Before the release of Narnina and the Newer stuff came out. When and ex computer executive tries to hack into the computer to prove that his boss stole credit for video games that he designed, he is thrown into and adventure that rivals that of the Digmom movie. Can Flyn and his program Tron stop the evil MCP, his minions Spark and his user partner Diligner. Find out in this thrilling 1980s features from disney filled with phonimal effects classic 1980s disney action and adventur. If you like this I also recommend Cloak and Dagger and the Digmon Movie for die hard anima slash scifi fans..

Summary: A movie for those who loves to daydreams!
Comment: I know a lot of reviews have been done on this movie- as I am typing this there are 22 pages worth of reviews on this movie but it doesn't matter who get to see this review - this movie is a rare treasure for those who likes to be creative and stand out from the rest of the public. For one thing, it uses as its background a type of 80s computer graphic not seen in any movies since after - bold neon colors on a grayish to black background similar to computer and videogames played from that period. By compare, there are 50 or more cowboy movies that are made based on a actual period that last less than four years for the Wild West theme or on actual events like the apache wars which last at least 10 years (I'm not sure exact - I'm not familiar with that period - just bits of facts from that period). The numbers of movies based on 80s theme computers may numbers less than five. There are enemies that break up into polygons like triangles, rhombus instead of dust or other methods and that give it a unique experience. It will also show those who have been born after the 80s an experience of what that period was like.
Actually I was introducted to the movie after playing the game, Kingdom Hearts 2 for Playstation 2 - I didn't know it exists because I was a little kid back then and sci fi wasn't my thing.(I'm a late comer)

Summary: One of the best Sci Fi of all time
Comment: The MCP is Dilligers AI chest program. Dilliger sudden rise to power in ENCOM allows him to establish the MCP as the handler of all security and interfaces.

The MCP has become 1,200 times smarter than its initial Artificial Intelligence programming. Dillinger has rose to Senior Vice President by plagerizing Flynn's video game programs. Flynn's is fired but continues to hack the system looking for a file that will reveal that he is the owner of the video games. The MCP plans on taking over military systems and claiming the ability to run the systems more efficiently. The MCP lets Dilliger, he is insignificant and if he doesn't cooperate he will be replaced.

Flynn is managing a video arcade business and hacking the ENCOM system. Flynn breaks all the arcade game scores and can play games better than anyone else. One of his programs called clue is caught by the MCP and dissolved. The programs are semi automomous agents capable independant decisions but receive directives from their users. The MCP then contacts Dilliger than tell his about the breach in the system.

The MCP tells Dilliger that "Flynn is becoming more clever" and to shut down all level 7 connections to prevent access to a secret file that the MCP has been hiding.

Lora decides to warn Flynn about Dilliger's attempt to trap him. The group break into ENCOM and Flynn hacks the system from a security level 6 terminal.

The MCP controls power to programs in the system. The MCP has a humanoid digital face. While Flynn is sitting at the level 6 terminal talking with the MCP, the MCP is activating a digitizing molecular laser; the MCP digitizes Flynn into the system.

Flynn meets TRON and RAM, but they are unaware that he is user. The user is the designer and has all the answers. TRON tells Flynn that his user has devised a way to free the system from the MCP.

Flynn fights Crom using his identity disk and defeats Crom but spares him, however, Sark terminates the game and Crom vaporizes. In the light cycle race Flynn, Tron, and Ram managed to escape the grid; the group is discovered, shots fired at a bridge, and Flynn and Tron separated by void; Flynn rescues RAM and escapes; Flynn meets bit, who can say either yes or no and they fly to I/O tower; as Ram dies, he asks Flynn if he is a user and Flynn confides that he is a user; TRON and RAM are surprised to learn that users are plagued with uncertainty; RAM dies vindicated in the faith of the user to direct the system.

Tron finds a program written by Lora called Yori; Tron communicates with Alan through an I/O Tower and receives instructions on how to destroy the MCP; Tron and Yori depart on a solar sailer to the MCP but are captured by Sark; Tron defeats Sarek telling him, "I'm strong then you are"; Tron then tries to defeat the MCP directly but his identity disk is blocked by the MCP shielding; Flynn jumps into the MCP stream and disrupts the shield and Tron destroys the MCP.

Editorial Reviews:

The surprising truth about Disney's 1982 computer-game fantasy is that it's still visually impressive (though technologically quaint by later high-definition standards) and a lot of fun. It's about a computer wizard named Flynn (Jeff Bridges) who is digitally broken down into a data stream by a villainous software pirate (David Warner) and reconstituted into the internal, 3-D graphical world of computers. It is there, in the blazingly colorful, geometrically intense landscapes of cyberspace, that Flynn joins forces with Tron (Bruce Boxleitner) to outmaneuver the Master Control program that holds them captive in the equivalent of a gigantic, infinitely challenging computer game. Disney's wizards used a variety of cinematic techniques and early-'80s state-of-the-art computer-generated graphics to accomplish their dynamic visual goals, and the result was a milestone in cyberentertainment, catering to technogeeks while providing a dazzling adventure for hackers and nonhackers alike. Appearing just in time to celebrate the nascent cyberpunk movement in science fiction, Tron received a decidedly mixed reaction when originally released, but has since become a high-tech favorite and a landmark in special effects, with a loyal following of fans. --Jeff Shannon
