Customer Rating: Summary: This game is a classic in its own right. Comment: Because at the time, no other game dazzled players like this one did! It was innovative with the flying cape tricks you could pull off and the music was sensational. Going to each castle was fun too and beating the pants off of the Koopa Kids was fun as heck.
I'm not sure that this game would get much play time from me now though, because I played it OUT when it was out and after that! But for those who have played it too, I'm sure you agree that this game was wonderful and still is. :P
4 stars.
Customer Rating: Summary: Where Do I Start?! Comment: To me this is possibly the best game I have ever played! I mean, sure there is the Wii with Super Mario Galaxy, but I like this game better. I have beat it 100% complete on the SNES.(I downloaded this game on the Wii shop channel too.)
The Story is: Mario and Luigi need a vaction and decide to take Peach on the way. Mario and the Gang end up at dinosour land and, well you guessed it, Bowser was there and decided to take Peach. Mario has to save her!
You can play this with a friend too. P1 will be Mario and P2 is Luigi. Unfortunatley you don't play together, you just take turns playing levels. But anyway I suggest you get this game for the SNES or Virtual Console!
Customer Rating: Summary: Yet another addictive Mario masterpiece Comment: The first time I played Super Mario World I was disappointed since I felt the overall feel, sound effects, and the overall package were not as impressive and fun as my all-time favorite Mario game, Super Mario Bros. 3. But after a little while I really grew into this one. The graphics are a step up from SMB3, coming about two years after the NES classic, and feature some new enemies as well as some familiar ones like the unholy annoyance known as Lakitu. Among the new enemies is an extremely annoying football player baddie that cannot be killed with a jump, and usually takes a good number of fireballs (and a follow-up jump) to kill.
Another thing I love about this one is the in-game save feature. SMB3 let you stay on the same world if you lost the game (and the murder-inducingly-frustrating original Super Mario Bros. had no such features at all), but Super Mario World lets you save after 2 or 3 levels, making it a greater convenience to play and easier to beat. The music is as good as ever as well; the victory music after you defeat a boss is especially epic and triumphant in that cheesy video game way. It always puts a smile on my face! Oh, and Yoshi also gets his debut in the world of Mario here. Awesome!
Overall, this is yet another addictive Mario classic. Highly recommended as usual.
Customer Rating: Summary: DREAM COME TRUE Comment: I HAD THIS GAME A LONG TIME AGO AND LOST IT, AND FROM THEN ON I ONLY COULD THINK ABOUT HOW EXCITING AND GOOD I FELT WHILE PLAYING IT, WISHING I COULD JUST OWN IT AGAIN.THEN ONE DAY I WENT TO THE WEBSITE OF AMAZON AND MY EYES LIT UP WITH JOY TO SEE ALL THE MARIO GAMES AND OTHERS THAT I HAD PLAYED, BOUGHT STRAIGHT OUT JOY AGAIN.I AM ENJOYING MY GAMES ONCE MORE.THANKS TO AMAZON AND THE SELLER.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not too bad, but definitely frustrating Comment: I was disappointed by this game. I found it pretty difficult, especially the ghost houses, which are annoying and take dozens of lives to get through. Yoshi is adorable, especially when he eats the little fruits, but he bolts if you get hit. That's a drag since he is a main draw of the game, and he just can't wait to run away from you. (?) I usually only play the first couple boards of this game, because they are the only ones that have a solid-ground type of 'feel', like classic Mario is supposed to. Even later in Worlds 1 and 2, the boards get way complex and lose that fun simplicity.
This one is better than Super Mario 3 (holy hell, that second world that is ALL water boards?! Get ready to die a million times. Japanese Water Torture, that...)
So, it's worth trying out. A lot of people like this game a lot and can actually pass it somehow, but personally I like the games where you can actually move up in them comfortably and not die forty times at every ghost house or water board or chasm-jumping board. Again, there is really something to be said for terra firma...

From the Manufacturer Mario and his dinosaur companion, Yoshi, are looking for the dinosaur eggs Bowser has stolen and placed in seven castles. Many secret exits aid Mario in finding his way to Bowser's castle, completing 74 areas and finding all 96 exits. With multiple layers of 3-D scrolling landscapes, find items including, a feather that gives Mario a cape allowing him to fly. and a flower so he can shoot fireballs. For any Mario fan this game is a must.
