Customer Rating: Summary: Does not work Comment: My husband keeps track of my snoring, so I purchased the Snore Stopper in hopes he would get a good night's sleep. The first time I used it he said it did not completely stop my snoring. Subsequent nights were even less effective. After 4 weeks, we gave up as there was no improvement. At no time - during sleep - was I aware of the electric 'zap', even tho it tested strongly. So, either it never worked (and the first night's partial relief was pychological) or it rapidly lost it's ability to disturb my sleep enough to cause me to change positions. I absolutely do not recommend this product. I feel it was a complete waste of money...but if you really want one, I'll be glad to sell you mine at half price.
Customer Rating: Summary: Maybe it works Comment: HealthCare Snore Stopper
This is exactly the same as the higher priced Snore Stopper, which is what I bought first.
According to my wife, it really worked well for a while - - much less snoring on my part.
But then the device stopped working properly, shocking me randomly when I was making no noise.
So I bought this less expensive version, and again it worked for awhile before becoming random.
THEN I replaced the battery even though the device did not indicate it needed replacing and then the device began to work properly again.
So 1) Do not loose the tiny phillips screwdriver that is needed to change the battery! I terribly irritating design flaw.
2) Change batteries the first time you notice it shocking you without cause (random shocks).
3) I'm still not 100% certain it works for stopping my snoring, but it's well worth a try. You can adjust the shock intensity to the level you want - - it doesn't have to fully wake you up. Or it can if you want!
Customer Rating: Summary: Seems good except it stopped working Comment: First, I disagree with those who say this will kill you. And I DID go to a doctor; I even had a sleep study done, and they couldn't seem to think of anything to help me. People with apnea can definitely benefit from a trip to the doctor, but apparently I don't have that, yet I still snore very loudly. The doctor said I could try expensive and very painful surgery that might or might not help. He had no other suggestions.
So I tried the Snore Stopper and it seemed to help for the first couple nights. Since then, I have not been able to get it to work. It turns on, but the electrodes don't seem to be working. I tried changing them and also changing the battery, to no avail. Unfortunately I didn't get around to trying it soon enough, and now it's too late to return it. I think this could be a good product if it were more durable--too bad.
Customer Rating: Summary: Questionable quality Comment: This thing works! At least it did for a week, then it just died. My wife said my snoring was gradually decreasing and I felt better every morning.
So, I sent it back for a replacement, which Amazon promptly and courteously process, and when it arrived, it tested okay, but wouldn't respond to snores, nor any sounds in fact.
I was disappointed and asked for another replacement, but Amazon said 2 was enough and just gave me a refund.
This could possibly be a great product, if only it were more reliable and durable.
Customer Rating: Summary: Snore Stopper Stops Snores & Sleep Comment: Basically, this product works as advertized. In fact, I am amazed that they can pack that much functionality into a wrist-worn package. I try to avoid wearing it, because the wrist band is annoying, but when the Spouse insists, I put it on, and it does jolt me when I get too noisy. For me this happens maybe two or three times a night. Of course that is when I am sleeping most deeply :-( . Hopefully one gets trained by this gaget to not snore as much, but that remains to be determined.
I feel that I have gotten my money's worth in terms of reduced spousal aggrivation. The only "design" issue I have with the "Snore Stopper" is the control dial. It is tiny, impossible to read in the reduced light of a darkened bedroom, and with no detents (except for OFF). If I had to redesign it, that would be high on my list. So I set it once, before putting it on my wrist, and try not to mess with it afterward.
Altogether, I am satisfied with my purchase.
