Comment: congratulations to the makers of this movie. I must say that this is indeed the best lesbian movie I have seen so far. Maybe because somehow I can relate to it but the story itself and the dialogue fits perfectly all together and the ACTORS PORTRAYED THEIR PARTS FLAWLESSLY. Kudos to all of you. JOB WELL DONE!
I think I will never get tired of watching this movie over and over again. This film will be a classic lesbian movie many years from now. I wish they would be interested to make a sequel. That would be awesome!

Summary: What's A Mother and Daughter to Do?
Comment: Saving Face, a romantic comedy-drama directed by newcomer Alice Wu, is about a 48-year-old widowed mother(Joan Chen, "Judge Dredd")who found out she is pregnant and her father kicked her out of the house. With nowhere to go, she moves in with her 20-something-year-old daughter(Michelle Krusiec)who is trying to handle her own life, with a job at a New York hospital and a lesbian relationship. The special features in the DVD includes a behind the scenes segment and a Sundance Film Festival diary from Wu. This may well be the funniest tear-jerker I seen in a while.

When 48-year-old widow Hwei-Lan Gao (Joan Chen) informs her less-than understanding father she's pregnant, he banishes her from Flushing until she remarries or proves Immaculate Conception. With nowhere else to go, Hwei-Lan moves in with her grown daughter, Wil (Michelle Krusiec), a Manhattan doctor who doesn't want a roommate, especially since she's met Viv (Lynn Chen), her sexy young lover. So Wil does what any dutiful child with an expectant, unmarried mother on her hands would do: she proceeds to set Hwei-Lan up with every eligible bachelor in town.
