Summary: We LOVE the Giants!
Comment: After so many years without the recognition they deserved, I'm glad the Giants have found their niche (even though it's with the monolithic Disney). My whole family loves this CD/DVD -- and my son has known his ABCs for years. I find myself continuing to listen in the car, even after I've dropped him off at school. I just bought 3 copies from Amazon as gifts, and hope anyone who reads this enjoys Giants' ABCs as much as we do!

Summary: Funky fun
Comment: This album is so much fun! They Might Be Giants have a distinctly unique style, that definitely comes out in their children's music, too. The songs are so upbeat, my daughter can't help but dance every time I play the CD, and she's not even 2 years old yet. I was surprised to find that there was also a DVD included, which I didn't realize. So I didn't play it until later. But it is so good! There are actually funky cartoons, puppet skits or live band footage for each song, plus some extras not on the CD. The artwork in the cartoons is really amazing, too. And it's great to learn about the alphabet while dancing and singing!

Comment: We love this DVD. Especially the Robot doing the alphabet. My kids want to watch it over and over. Great buy!

Summary: This is some of TMBG's best work!
Comment: I really needed to point out that only 1 out of 100 reviewers is as lame as... "C. Kirkpatrick" for giving only two stars and really not liking this. I would not send my daughter over to your house for a play date for sure. The musical is creative and whimsical! One of my all-time favorite memories was driving home with wife after dinner, daughter strapped in back with ABC's playing. She was about 18 months and recited all of the tree names pretty clearly in "C is for conifers". We both have many priceless memories from this CD.

Summary: fantastic learning tool
Comment: My 3 1/2 year old loves this CD. I didn't realize when I bought it that it also came w/ a DVD. It was a pleasant surprise. The content is engaging for young and old alike, which is nice since my son likes to watch it over and over again.

Editorial Reviews:

No stranger to the realm of children's records, They Might Be Giants have seen success with their CD No! and the book-and-CD combo Bed, Bed, Bed. Their latest CD, Here Come the ABCs, offers up 25 alphabetically themed songs. However, as is their charming way, the two Johns (Flansburgh and Linnell), use the letters as merely the connective tissue, allowing them to pursuit intriguing flights of fancy that consider everything from the relative power of letters and sounds to animal hijinks. Just as they've always done, there are wistful ballads and high octane rockers. TMBG have always been a family-friendly band, and this disc works just fine for adult fans, who can rightfully consider this simply their newest release. --David Greenberger
