Customer Rating: Summary: Love the 80's Comment: All in all we like the game. I purchased GH3 for my wife and then got her this game as she was a teen in the 80's. She says that its a little bit short for game play but she likes the music. Also she has fun playing it.
Its a good game for beginners
Customer Rating: Summary: Geat Idea, Poor Execution - Don't bother. Comment: This game is a great idea and one that I've been looking forward to, however the actual execution of the game is really poor. I find that in most cases the music doesn't match the note-target thingys. No, I'm not talking about the abundant music-sync issues, I'm talking about the music not matching the targets you have to hit - so much so that for me, the game is totally not enjoyable. I know the songs in the game, intimately, and it's really off. Red Octane probably knows this and didn't really want to advertise this disgrace tot he product line.
Overall very un-enjoyable way to spend a few hours (not to mention $). It's a shame. Perhaps Red Octane should produce a 'Folk Song Hero' or maybe a 'Disco Hero', it couldn't be any worse.
Customer Rating: Summary: My favorite Guitar Hero game! Comment: I LOVE playing this game with my kids! I wasn't a big fan of Guitar Hero at first because it seemed a bit too challenging until my son walked me through the "training mode." I am now addicted and I LOVE all the 80s music!
Customer Rating: Summary: Solid Guitar Hero game, but NOT for $50 Comment: I am completely amazed how long this game kept a [...] price tag. This game is nowhere near worth $50. Overall, its a solid Guitar Hero game featuring great 80s hits. If you love 80s music and Guitar Hero you will love this game.
Now, why all the bad rap on the price? This game is basically a skin for Guitar Hero II. All the characters are the same, all the menus look the same, everything visual is the same. The only difference is they tried to throw some 80s crap on top of it. The worse part however is the amount of songs. This game doesn't even feature half of the songs in Guitar Hero II. Its shorter by 1 or 2 venues and has NO bonus songs at all. Plus there aren't even as many characters, outfits, guitars, or anything. Its basically less than half a game.
Its finally worth its price now that its dropped to [...]. If you can get it for that much its definitely worth a play. If you can't, then don't bother or have somebody else buy it for you, lol.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great becaus of the price drop. Comment: I have Guitar Hero 3 and Aerosmith for the Wii, and Guitar Hero 1 and 2 for the PS2. I love playing all of them, mainly because I love the music, and also, my 3 year old likes to play along with a play guitar, so it is a good bonding experience (he always wins...). I was hesitant to buy this for $49.99, but I jumped as soon as I saw the price drop to $19.99. Even though it offers nothing new, it is a blast from the past to re-enjoy some songs that I listened to before high school. I can't believe some of the big retailers are still charging $49.99 for this. Rock Band 2 for the PS3 is on deck :)
