Summary: Correction to FOX's review.
Comment: FOX above has bought this stick and I have not. I have bought a different stick made by Minnesota Fats and it performs very well. I must disagree with a few statements that FOX has made.

"A couple ounces do not matter.." is a VERY wrong statement. I can tell you form years of experience that if you buy a 21 oz cue and break with it, you find that your cueball will fly off the table much more often. Whereas if you break with a 19 or 18 oz cue it won't as often.

"you cannot tell the difference between a 20 oz and a 18 oz cue unless looking at them..." sorry FOX, this reveals your inexperience with the sport. I can tell you blindfolded which cues are 21, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, and even 15. (yes they do make 17-15 oz cues; house sticks only.) You don't have to look at a stick to know the weight. This comes with experience.

Another fact that a person might find interesting is that shooting with lighter sticks allows you to use more english when you shoot. Because of the lighter stick there is not as much force(weight) behind the cue stick allowing for more control.

Please, in the future, make sure you have proper knowledge of a sport and the equipment before writing an extensive review that only hinders other people from learning. I would hate to have people become more stupid because a single person THINKS they know alot, when really they don't. Also don't make your opinions into supposed facts.

Have a great day.

Summary: Great Pool Cue!
Comment: Don't get tricked into thinking you need to spend hundreds for a pool cue, those costing hundreds have the same exact tip that this cue has, the LePro tip!

Forget anything about ounces and all that garbage too. Everyone will admit that there is no advantage or disadvantage between a cue that is one or two ounces lighter or heavier. Yet they like to say that people have a certain "preference" over one weight over another. Folks, they actualy have cues you can choose that are only a HALF an ounce difference! There is no way anyone can tell the difference or tell me this can help them play any better.

So, this one comes in the old classic pool hall standard of 20 oz. Forget about it. Using one 18 oz, you will never know unless you READ the weight label. They are all the same.

Same with length. From all the brands and cues out there, one might be one inch difference, big deal. All this does is confuse the consumer, especially the new person wanting a cue that just started getting into playing pool and doesn't want to pay $1.50 each time to rent a cue at the pool hall.

I use this cue and it is great. The only thing that costs less, are the $20 cues with the soft leather tips that wear out after only playing a few times. This one has a nice hard tip, that is already preshaped to the perfect roundness and stays that way.

Also, you have a nicer clean smooth maple wood on this one, the $20 cues have a cheaper not so nice wood.

Anyone paying any more for a cue than this one, is just paying for fancy inlays, mother of pearl accents, and design features, more money is not going to get a cue that PLAYS any better, just impresses other people more by looks.

A proffessional tournament player with this cue is going to win any game against an amatuer player with a $400 or $4000 cue.

If you are looking for your first pool cue, this one will be just fine. The most important thing is the tip, and this one has the same tip the ones costing hundreds do.

The tip doesn't screw off to be replaced like the $20 cues do, but proffesional cues don't screw off either. Eventually you have to cut this one off or have a pro do it for you, but unlike the screw off type that NEED to be replaced all the time, you don't even worry about replacing this one. Just do NOT use all those trimming and grooming devices on the tip, or you WILL be replacing it! Those are all quack devices and you don't need them. This tip should last you a long time if you don't abuse it and use it as a walking stick.

I am using this cue now and am very pleased with it.

Editorial Reviews:

Constructed with a professional taper and 13-millimeter Le Pro tip, the Minnesota FatsĀ® Professional cue stick offers durability with excellent feel.
