Customer Rating: Summary: Positive review Comment: I need to add a positive review for this movie. It was definitely my second favorite movie of 2008 (I liked Saw V better). This movie has a lot of action and explosions in it and kept me wondering until the end. I really like Walberg and he does not disappoint in this movie.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great American Action Movie! Comment: This was a great action movie that makes you feel good about being an American. And you get to see lots of shooting and destruction. What's not to love?
Customer Rating: Summary: Bad Bourne Comment: This was a decent shoot em up flick. I gave it 4 stars because I can still recall the plot-so many are forgetable. Its a bad attitude Bourne type movie and I liked Walberg as lead. If you liked Last Man Standing and Reindeer Games, type of off beat rough; you will probably like this. Not warm-Not fuzzy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great movie! Comment: This is NOT my usual genre, but I got coaxed into watching it and was very impressed with both Mark Wahlberg and the movie. It was a bit more graphic than I am comfortable with, but I closed my eyes a lot. I was enthralled from the opening frames until the end. I highly recommend it!
Customer Rating: Summary: Ridiculously implausible but it has nice, big explosions Comment: The notion that some dark elements would attempt to kill a foreign official while a few feet away from the US president and try to get away with murder by framing some experienced, combat tested sniper who was fooled into believing that he was really doing a feasibility study of whether the president could be killed by pointing a sniper rifle at him from a mile away... you got the idea?
And it's getting worse from there. While nearly fatally wounded, our hero loses about 5000 FBI, Secret Service and regular cops, all hot on his tail, then he comes back to kill everyone guilty... Oh well, the cable channels need movies to kill some time, I suppose.
And, one more thing. Why would anyone ever want to build an oil pipeline through Ethiopia? The correct answer is "no one would". Ethiopia is bordered by Somalia (hostile), Eritrea (hostile), Kenya (has no oil) and Sudan (has oil but also has hundreds of miles of Red Sea shore and has no need for an Ethiopian pipeline, passing through its rebellious South.
Why 2 stars? I suppose it's because it has a couple of well-known actors, there are some nice, very large explosions and because it's good to see corrupt politicians receive their well-deserved punishment but, overall, watching this movie is wasting one's time.
