Summary: Caveat emptor
Comment: Beware, this power strip didn't show any smarts for me. My PowerMac G5 draws a miniscule amount of power (10-15 watts) even when the power is off. This was enough to "fool" the strip into behaving as if the power were on, thus there was no "smart" feature at all in play. Thinking I could use this in another application, I plugged some other appliances into it and it toggled erratically on and off. I found the lack of an adjustment control a major flaw, and I returned it in short order.

Summary: A great power saver!
Comment: I purchased two of these for the televisions in my house. I plugged the TV in the master outlet, our TiVo/DirecTV unit in the always on outlet, and everything else in the slave outlets. I've been using them for months now without a single problem. I love knowing that I can turn off everything that should be turned off with the push of a power button on the remote! AND I have actually noticed a small difference in our monthly power usage.
Previously, I had everything but the TiVO on a power strip, but I never remembered to reach behind the entertainment center to push the power switch. This unit does it for you! It also prevents the various appliances (like our DVD recorder) from drawing power when powered down.
Love it! Love the price!

Summary: Easy to set up, works well
Comment: I bought 3 of these to use with my computers and entertainment center. It was an easy setup and they seem to work beautifully with all of my devices. The only thing you need to remember is that different devices have different behaviors - for example my speakers and monitor come on when I turn on the computer, but to use the printer I have to press the printer's on button to get it to come back up - not a big deal, but something to consider when deciding where to plug in each device!

Comment: I have had two of these power strips now, the original order and a replacement. Within a few minutes after plugging in, and with computer equipment running, they begin cycling power off and on. So I'm back to my old "dumb" power strip which doesn't cause any problems.

Summary: Works great, even on standby
Comment: got one for my computer, and one for my entertainment center. works great with both. i have my computer plugged into the master port, and it works when my computer is put into standby mode. i have read that other power strips of this type have trouble with standby mode. if you need more switched or unswitched plugs, just plug a standard power strip into this strip's plugs.
