Customer Rating: Summary: Magellan maestro magic Comment: Life was unbearable when this small town boy went to the metro area of austin, dallas, and san antonio. Magellan has made the difference. The Maestro 4250 is everything I wanted and expected. No problem navigation with voice prompts and plenty of travel time with or without the dc adapter. Thank you Magellan. My first and only navigation device I will ever need. I easily found a vietnamese bistro, went to an imax, and other great eating places with no effort. the voice prompts are great and the device is so easy to use, I am now smarter than a fourth grader.
Customer Rating: Summary: Magellan Maestro 4250 Comment: Great product. It performs as expected, although the voice command feature isn't as cool/helpful as I expected. Frankly, I very rarely use the voice command feature.
It's worth the price and comparable to similarly priced Garmin models. Word of note: If you use ANY shortcuts that the Maestro 4250 doesn't recognize, be prepared for frustration. The Maestro 4250 will stop at nothing to get you back on ITS track.
Customer Rating: Summary: Maestro 4250 More Cumbersome To Use Than Roadmate 760 Comment: We've been using Magellan Roadmate 760 units in our two service vans for the past 2-years and recently purchased a Maestro 4250. The new Magellan unit is significntly less useful in this area than the older Roadmates. Here's why. When you enter a city or zip code the new Maestro 4250, it asks you to further identify the actual township. In our region, we have a lot of mailing zip codes that contain numerous townships: e.g, the mailing location West Chester, PA 19382 contains over 10 separate townships! Consequently, when a customer supplies us with their mailing address (e.g., 101 Main Street, West Chester, PA 19382) and we try to enter this address, the Maestro also requires entry of which specific township. This requires us to change our customer database to not only contain a mailing address, but also add a separate township identification. The older Roadmate 760's only require entering the mailing address. This may not be a issue for many users, but it's a real problem with the Maestro in Southeastern, Pennsylvania. In addition, the Maestro processes data input significantly slower than the Roadmate 760. We've just purchased another Roadmate 760 because this model is much more useful for our service vans than the glitzier new Maestro.
Customer Rating: Summary: 100% Satisfaction Comment: I needed to take several interstate trip, and also in state and local trips. I wanted a voice command enabled system with multiple options + wide screen with high resolution. Magellan 4250 provided me with all of these features and more.
I studied all the brands in the market and made a comprehensive comparison before buying the right GPS, for more than two weeks. I am quite happy with my purchase.
I red few negative comments before, now that I have the unit, I see few of those problems happens, but their solution is very easy and quick. For example, it is now very obvious to me that those who reported a problem with turning on the system, haven't got tried to connect the charger cable to the unit when the battery charge was probably very low.
This GPS works professionally, yet it's very user friendly.
Customer Rating: Summary: great product Comment: This is my first experience with a GPS and I think this one is fabulous. The voice feature is really nice, its great to cue up info hands free. So far the device has been very accurate and I am very pleased.
