Summary: Undistinguishable
Comment: As a fan of Michael Buble, a comparison of him to Belsante caused me to be interested in this CD. Unfortunately a nice voice with no distinguishing characteristics and fairly banal orchestration and song selection leave this CD in the dust of any of Buble's CDs, or many other singers, for that matter. I have not listened to Belsante's non-holiday CD, but based on this CD, have no interest in doing so. With the huge number of holiday CDs available, any new one should have some defining characteristics, and this CD has none to recommend it. It is not an awful recording at all, just blah.

Comment: Belsante is young, seriously adorable, and totally talented! Wow, all I can say is this guy has major talent!! Not only does he have an AMAZING voice, the compilation of songs on his CD is so cool especially his "'Zat You Santa Claus?" (a song I had never heard before but found REALLY cute - I would buy this CD just for that song!) and "Baby It's Cold Outside" (one of my holiday favorites). He is jazzy and soulful and he left me wanting more!! Growing up I always loved Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. That is a high standard to live up to but I think Matt Belsante has done a great job with his gift so far and I can't wait to see how he matures in the future. I recommend buying this CD! You just can't lose and it's a treat!

Summary: A Delightful Surprise!!
Comment: This CD was given to me as a gift last year by a friend. In all honesty, I had never heard anything by this artist before, but since I have very eclectic taste in music and absolutely love Christmas carols, I was excited to play something new. Also, I was curious to find out if the CD would be something I personally enjoyed but likewise could play for company. Needless to say, I was immensely impressed with this CD and Belsante's modern and jazzy take on some of my all-time favorite traditional Christmas songs! This CD is loads of fun and great for those looking for old favorites that are up-to-date stylistically and sung by a singer with a phenomenal voice. I enjoyed this CD so much that I have purchased several of them this year to give as gifts to my friends for the holidays. I'm hoping that Belsante gets many more loyal fans like me and I can't wait to hear his new release!
